Sebastian turns 2!

On Saturday (the 11th of Feb) we were able to celebrate Bubba's 2nd birthday! We are truly blessed to have our cheeky monkey in our lives and look forward to watching him grow and learn in the years to come.

Here are a few photo's we took on the day (we had a party/BBQ with family and a few friends at a park in Launceston).

Eleanor's Baptism

On Sunday the 29th of December we were able to present Eleanor for baptism. Following are some of the photo's. You will have to excused the hot and bothered look. It was hot (for us in Launceston) and humid. Eleanor was in and out of her dress on numerous occasions as it was far to hot to leave her in it all day (besides one can not fit small baby and all that dress into the capsule and safely buckle her in)!

We celebrated the day with a coffee morning at Church and then had (extended) family at Mum and Dad's after Church.

We then had a few family photo's late in the day (waiting for the weather to cool off). Kids and photo's at a park with a fun play ground in sight was rather a challenge, but they managed pretty well!

Little Miss E, 4 weeks already!

Little miss has made it to 4 weeks already! Boy how time flies when your busy with three little ones!

Wednesday was our 4 week check with the clinic sister and Eleanor passed with flying colours! Some stats:
Weight - 3700g
Length - 50cm

In 9 days she's managed to gain 900g and grow 2 cm! She's now smiling at us, not that often, and is still a pretty content baby!

So, without further ado, some recent photo's (starting with the most recent)........

Eleanor Renee

Bj and I would like to announce the arrival of Eleanor Renee!

With thanks to God, she arrived yesterday morning as

the tiniest, prettiest little thing of the lot!

Vitalstatistix: 828 6,5 2810 46 (hrs, lbs oz, g, cm)

She sleeps, looks cute, likes to drink and generally steals the show.

The boys love her; Q says her name very well: El A Naw

She kept me (L) up a little last night (this a.m.) and I had to sit watching music videos or something in the tea-room drinking coffee. Suuuuch a drain...

But Bj fared little better with apparently 1-2 hrs of 'solid' sleep last night. Still betta than nothing I suppose. Here's to watching this little girl grow up along side two big doting brothers!

Visitors!

Over the last week (well 6 days) we've had visitors to entertain! Well, for the most they entertained themselves! Bruce, Sarah, Kiera and Evan have come (and gone) for a short, but fun filled visit. The kids had a blast playing together (for the most), and we got to spend 2 days at Mt Field enjoying snow, sun, fog, plants, wildlife, good company and good food.

Really, it was over too quickly, but BSKE, thanks for coming and sharing some good times with us!

Now for a few photo's! All the photo's off both Sarah's camera and ours have gone into one folder on our computer, so I will attempt to only share our photo's (and not pinch Sarah's photos).

First stop at Mt Field - lunch in the sun and a play in the playground before a walk to Russell Falls!

After our walk, it was decided we should visit Lake Dobson before checking into out accommodation! The travel up was interesting and quite slippery (for those not ensconced in a 4 wheel drive). A stop proved to be a bad idea, probably the worst place to stop as far as snow and ice went. So after much cafuffle (and holding up traffic), the chains were finally fitted to the 2 wheel drive and off we went for a play in the snow!

Some snow banks were higher than the door-meets-window of the 4 wheel drive!

How can one doubt the story of creation when you see beauty such as this!

A wombat decided to run across the road on the way back down from Lake Dobson!

The boys had decided they would have a go at skiing on Saturday morning! So, before we set off on Friday, they went off and were fitted out with ski's and poles and all things necessary (including the chains we needed for our car). An early start up to Lake Dobson saw them leave about 7.45 am, wind up extremely frustrated with they way things were being run, but have a great time (and not break anything). Getting to the ski fields means a trek up either a steep gravel road (covered in very icy snow) or a cross country ski along a few different tracks. The tows are all privately run (and poorly done so if you care to sit through the whole story from the guys)!! But......they had fun and Larry has decided he wants to go again sometime this winter!

Sebastian enjoyed the snow more on Monday than he did on Friday (hence the reason there are no photo's of bubba in the snow)!

Cubby House Fun

What to do on a cold, wintery morning?? Build a 'cubby owse' (as Q calls them). So in an effort to entertain two teething toddlers, a cubby house it was. After some furniture rearranging, this is what we came up with (using the most of the 'toy corner' and bookshelf). It had a sort of tunnel entrance by the wall!!

After both boys cracked the narnies, Granny very kindly came and took Q for a few hours while she did a few errands. Sebastian played very nicely (and contently) on his own, while I got stuck into the housework (in relative peace for a change).

Here's a few snaps of the boys, taken this morning (both still in their pj's and nice warm, new, dressing gowns)! What am I talking about, Sebastian is still in his pj's!!

We went walking.......what did we see?

We were reading the book 'We Went Walking' with the boys this morning and it seems an appropriate title for our Easter activities!

We drove up to Launceston early on Good Friday (we left home before 7am so we could get to Church in time). Larry left straight after the service to go bush walking with a group of mates (and Heidi, the only female among 7 males). The boys and I
spent Friday/Saturday with Suzi and Eg, rather than sit at Mum's by ourselves!

So, Monday morning rolls around and we had set aside the day for some family time (same with Tuesday). We decided that a nice trip to Lilydale Falls was on the agenda. We did the walk to both sets of falls (quite short walks) and Q had a great time walking and exploring.

After our 'walk' we sat by the playground and enjoyed lunch and a drink before heading off for a drive. We got a bit lost, Larry's GPS lost the plot and the map was fairly useless. We followed forestry roads that were rather rough and bumpy and one was supposedly closed when we got to the other end of it (we did have to get out of the car and move a big tree branch). We did eventually find our way home again, a bit later than we hoped, and not in time to cook dinner (which I was going to do for mum and dad).

Tuesday was another beautiful sunny day! We decided Tamar Island was the go as Larry has been wanting to go there for a while. This time mum came with us! We spent a lovely 2 hours meandering to the island, over the island and back to the car (via the vistors centre). Quinlan did a lot of walking again (and exploring). We watched plenty of mud crabs, birds and a beautiful sea eagle soaring on wind currents. We crossed several bridges (I think 4) which Q thought was just marvelous (he has a bridge obsession, if you can go under something, it must be a bridge).

Needless to say, we had very tired little boys on the drive home on Tuesday night (Sebastian mostly hitched rides, but did a little bit of walking, he tends to go anywhere but the direction you are going in).

Need I say more?? Making hot cross buns at Easter is becoming a bit of a tradition in this house! Can't wait to eat them (breakfast on the go for tomorrow, in the car)!!

Mop Chop!!

On the weekend we ventured up to Launceston for the weekend to catch up with the family! While we were at it, we visited the family hair dresser for a much needed mop chop for the boys! This was Sebastian's first 'proper' hair cut (he has had a fringe trim before). Here are the before and after photo's (no before photo's of Q though!!).

Update!

How time flies these days! It's been a month since we updated the blog last! We've hardly taken any photos of anything at all, except for today! Not very many photo's to share today then!

It's a long weekend here and we are enjoying time in the garden! God has given us the most beautiful, glorious autumn days which we are hoping to make the most of! So off to the hardware shop we went for some plants, fertiliser and some bits n bobs. Home again to begin the list of projects for today!

Projects this weekend have consisted of mostly getting the garden beds tidied up, overgrown shrubs whacked with Larry's chopper things and weeding (Saturday's work). Today we have managed to get back into the veggie garden and we've planted seeds for carrots, parsnips and swedes after turning over the soil and fertilising (ok, I did that bit while Larry planted some other plants - red/black currants). So now we wait.....

Next on the to do list is to finish clearing more weeds in the veggie garden to plant seed potatoes. Then to start cabbage (red and green) and kale seedlings and they will be transferred once the beans and tomatoes are finished. I think we will also have young leeks to transplant once we find them amongst the weeds!

We are still picking an abundance of beans and tomatoes! Looks like I will be busy making the 3rd lot of tomato relish for this year (previous years I have had to horde the tomatoes to get the 1.5kg needed to make one yield of the recipe I use). I have also been busy with the 100's of apples that our tree has produced making them into pies and stewing them (into appelmoes). Our freezer and pantry are getting very full!!

We had also decided earlier in February to go strawberry picking so I could make jam! Some 3kg of strawberries later we had lots of jam! We also had enough nectarines (2kg) from our tree to make jam, and then more later to stew and freeze (and fresh ones to eat). This was the first year we actually got any edible and decent size nectarines from our tree!

Anyway, enough gardening news!! Some photo's to share of the boys enjoying the sunshine today, playing outside, 'helping' with the gardening and getting filthy dirty in the process (thats what boys do right??)!!

Camping!

Ok, so here it is, finally!! Camping! The adventure we embarked on one fine Saturday morning in January, albeit a few days later than planned due to rain and flooding!

We arrived in St Helens (at Dora Point) to set up camp in a humid 28 degrees! We didn't have the worry of trying to find a decent camping spot as Suzi had already set up in a good spot a few days earlier. I left Larry and John (Bos) to set up the tent, as Larry and I always differ (heatedly) on how and where to set it up! Suzi, Eg and I took the two boys (and assortment of dogs) to the beach to cool off and play in the sand!

Sebastian spent most of his (sleep) time sleeping in the stroller under the trees! He did have a bed in the tent!

Suzi's camp (we had a short driveway and a Y shaped camp - we were on the right, she was on the left)!

We spent a very relaxing week camping in beautiful warm weather! Only one light shower as far as rain went, and one overcast day compared to the 200+ mm of rain that had fallen in St Helens (and surrounds) the few days before we arrived! We spent many hours just sitting and reading or talking, playing on the beach with kids and dogs, swimming (for the brave as the water is quite cold), surfing (aka body boarding), sitting around the fire and fishing. We didn't get in as many walks as we would have liked, but we had to leave something for next time!

Every man and his dog (fishing)! The dogs were no longer allowed to go fishing after Spud ate the bait and Bella (Patrick's dog) ate something and got sick!

Look Daddy! A fish! (not an edible one, it was a Rass which Larry put in a rock pool so Q didn't start thinking that fish don't have heads!! It was returned to the water, a bit stunned but none the worse for wear!)

The boys had a blast playing on the beach and in the makeshift sand pit at our camp site. Sebastian tried gourmet food, aka beetles (yep, that one was accompanied by a very strange face), an assortment of leaves, twigs, sticks and rocks and then proceeded to eat half of the camp site! Quinlan tried his hand at fishing and surfing (on Daddy's 'boat').

It didn't last long though! Having fun with Aunty Suzi in the water!

We had a very enjoyable week, and came home relaxed, tanned and energized for the new year. We thank our Heavenly Father that He gives us such opportunities to spend time together and relax as a family!

I hope to be back in the next few days to add some more photos and edit this post! Right now, the photos are misbehaving and disappearing and I don't have the patience to find them!

It was a year ago today that Sebastian came into our lives! Just a little scrap of a boy at 3.315kg.

(insert newborn photo, I can't access them from the laptop at the moment!)

Now a big boy at 9.48kg (still on the smaller size for his age)!

We are so richly blessed to have him in our lives. Happy Birthday dear Bubba! May God continue to surround you with His love and care! We hope that today is filled with the joy that only birthdays can bring!

This is why I've been MIA!!

Just so you don't think I haven't updated the blog cos I'm lazy, I've been busy making these!!

Maybe I should have said this, as it only shows one (of two)! But, I made curtains for the boys room. After scouting high and low, far and near for curtains that I liked and were suitable (as in block out and the right colour) I came to the decision that the only way I would get what I wanted was to make them (might as well put the sewing machine to good use seeing as I co-own one these days)! So last Saturday, while Larry was having fun in WA (he actually would have been on his way over), the boys and I set off to Spotlight to buy materials, and lining and all things needed! This is the result of a weeks work (during children's nap times and once they were in bed at night)!

Their room was painted back in July last year and below is a pic of the feature wall and Q's bed!

I had to quickly make Q's bed before taking the photo (and line up all his stuffed animals)! S's bed was also unmade so it didn't get a feature this time!

I hope to update the blog with WA and camping photo's next week if I get time!

Time to post a few recent pics seeing as I've done the email update! Things are fairly quiet on the home front, as we all recover from our bugs! We are looking forward to heading off to WA on the 27th of December, so blog updates may be a few and far between until closer to the end of January.

Chubba Bubba and his fingers!

One wet afternoon in November, the 27th to be precise, we had an end of year/farewell Church BBQ for the group in Hobart. Quinlan and his little friend Jedidiah had great fun playing in the rain (hence the drowned rat look) and playing peek-a-boo with one of the poles from the BBQ shelter (they could see each other through it and were blowing raspberries and giggling like girls).

And.........Sebastian's latest trick, there have been a few, has been to pull himself up onto his knees. The rocking moose was just the right height to practice this new trick on! These photo's are the most recent, taken just this morning!!

When small fussy child wont eat homemade apricot chicken and veg mush, don;t waste it! Turn it into pasta sauce and let him feed himself! Warning, this method has proven to be very messy but quite effective! (It also helps if said child is dressed in an outfit of the same or similar colour to what he is eating, it hides the spillage!)

Jumpin' is Jolly Fun

We found the long lost Jolly Jumper and set it up the other day for Master Sebastian! One thing he and his big bro have in common is their love for similar activities! Maybe that's because most babies like these sorts of things (ie. nappy free time, staring out the window, rolling and jumping!).

Here is a video of Sebastian's first jumps in the Jolly Jumper. Quinlan (who was just out of bed, therefore the no pants and very attractive nappy look) was also rather fascinated by all the goings on and insisted on 'helping'!

Been playing with Linux lately and the "easy to use Ubuntu 10.04". With ffmpeg I could get the file size down to 2MB rather than the 100 odd MBs so that's cool.

... is not how far we travelled on this day, but boy, as the good Dr Z prophesied, did we go FAR!

The previous post was mainly about Lake St Clair. This post includes some LSC (pumphouse above, that was never actually used but was built for emergencies) but also includes some incredible shots that nearly made me fall off the kitchen chair really...

In short, we thought: "Hmm, weather looks pretty bland (compared to previous day anyway), lets drive to Queenstown and beyond, then travel back to Hobart in a single day!"

Here are some pics along the way, I think some are Mt Arrowsmith, Frenchmans Cap (in far distance and with a cold looking white cap), and various Mtns coming into Queenstown.

Well, if you drive round lots of corners and down into Queenstown, it is possible that small kids in said car might get slightly sick. We found this out shortly before arriving in Strahan and leaving Queenstown.

However, he did enjoy chasing seagulls and ducks at the Strahan foreshore. The journey back was slightly slower on the switch-backs through the passes and was incredible. On the way back we did enjoy a lack-lustre pub meal at fog-shrouded New Norfolk.

Lake St Clair

Its Larry here with another update to the goings ons (is that grammatically correct?) with the Tassie Huizingas.

First up some photos of Lake St Clair and our foray into the western wilds (from within the mighty Corolla...).

We travelled out to Lake St Clair on (I think) the Wednesday morning(ish) a couple of weeks ago and arrived at lake St Clair in fairly good conditions. Wait, it was actually a Monday. The weather was greyish but none too cold. Upon arrival we were greeted by many Kookaburras in the forest around.

Quinlan liked this and we found that we had the Camp Kitchen to ourselves. Hence, we enjoyed our pancakes for brekkie the next day.

The next morning we had Pancakes for brekkie based on a family tradition....

Q and Dad went walking in the mist while the Paparazzi (Bj) snapped away in natures best filter effects.

Part of the track along Lake St Clair forms part of the overland track which heads over ranges near Mt Ossa and Pelion hut (more on this in a future blog) towards Cradle Mt. We walked a route that went along Aboriginal heritage trail and then down to the lake and back. Quinlan walked at least half an hour of this; quite trooper like really!

It was quite a good day. The next day we had a look at pumphouse point and went on our peregrination across the heart of Tassie.... Insane! Stay tuned...

Hey guys. This is Larry. Meet Larry. He is quite cool; probably because he hides away in rooms and works while he should be out playing soccer with little lads.

I thought I might post some shots of the goings on around the place. Nothing quite so extravagant as at any of the other siblings, but still interesting perhaps to some.

In the one, his feet are missing; in the other, they are definitely there!

Yes well. He can make himself quite at home in the backyard which is good. On show here is his birthday pressie from his Hobart Granny.

The little man Sebastian was baptised on the 28th of February with Rev Eikelboom officiating. We had a number of visitors to the service during the day including the folks from Launceston. Here are a few more snaps taken on Sunday:

With thanks to God, we could welcome Sebastian into the world this morning the 11th February 2010 at Calvary Hospital in Lenah Valley.

He was 7lbs 5oz if I recall correctly. The little man was not too much trouble and his family adores him already. My sisters were so excited they had to celebrate by going out for a drink, then sending me a photo of them having a drink so I could be aware that they were happy to be celebrating their new nephew.

Quinlan tried to protect his head from the sun shining in the window…

Hey there guys.

Bj Larry and Quinlan and then the extras are on the plane to sunny(er) WA tomorrow morning 6am bright and early.

Hopefully someone is there to pick us up. Actually I think the fatherhood will be there. Cool.

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of job applications and then some work in the garden prepping for spring. Vegies are in including corn (something new), silverbeet (well it never wasn’t in… Bj says the silverbeet is “just there”), lettuces, spinach (eat more spinach), capsicum, and then of course the tomatoes. We had a bit of a scare last night. They say over here not to put tomatoes in before show day (whoo so scary) for risk of frost. However, last night there was snow to 900m on the Mountain. Hmmm….. Didn’t actually frost down here but it coulda and we woulda been plantin all ova again!

I also put in a herb garden by the back door which I shall put some piccies up of. The garden has rosemary, thyme, chamomile (yes it did survive the harsh winter inside), mint which was growing rampant by the washing line, chives and something else which I can’t identify by its cotyledon so i’ll have to ask Bj.

Well dinna is served and then it is some last minute packing and SLEEP!!!!

Quinlan's Birthday Bash

Well here it is, our big boy has turned 1!!!!!!!!
Check out the photos of the celebrations which lasted well into the night and the day beyond! Ok, well maybe thats exaggerating! It started with a few pressies on Friday, from Mum and Dad and then from various aunts, uncles and grandparents. With lots of ripping paper and more cardboard than you can poke a stick at, the presents were revealed one by one. Most overwhelming when you're little. Quinlan took some quiet time with a new book, then proceeded to play with his new tipper truck!

He absolutely loved all the toys from everyone. He was pretty bombed on Friday Night (his birthday) as you may be able to tell he looks kinda asleep:

He and his parents were pretty overwhelmed by all the gifts and cards and well wishes; Quinlan just had to sit quietly for a while to take it all in...

He actually is fairly good at taking something which fits into a spot, and trying to put it back in the same spot. An intelligent kid that!

All in all a fitful celebration of a year of an amazing life so far with Q and pars.

He would like to thank all his grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Great Aunts, Great Uncles, Omas, Opas, Frends and Raletions for all gifts and Sundry.

Distant Smoke Signals

Hey there friend.

Well, you might be forgiven for thinking that people in Hobart communicate in smoke signals. If this was the case, we don't talk enough. However, there are lots of talkative homes in Moonah. The number of chimneys that would be billowing out tas oak smoke at the moment in the neighbourhood is quite high.
This has a lot to do with the temperature and the efficiency of combustion heaters to warm a house in the dead of winter.

Even though it is the dead of winter over here, we are very much alive. Things are good. We have had Bjs cousin Renee over from WA and she has enjoyed listening to Bj and my arguments ever so often. Quite amusing. Bj is back at work a coupla days a week, and we are going along nicely. I have to put some current photos up on this site, but I just don't have the willpower to get it done. I blame the cold and the ten odd metres of icy blast I need to travel to the sleepout with said digicam to upload photos.

Anyway, instead of going to get the cam, I'll just rant and rave and ramble on about nothing in particular, you won't learn anything about what's going on over here, but at least my fingers will be slightly less numb after this long sentence because of the blood flowing through them to get the idea across. There. That feels better.

This week I started work at the Hobart Call centre for Centrelink; after last week applying to Centrelink for Newstart allowance (incapacitated) they promptly decided to give me a job.

Well, it wasn't quite like that but hey.

It's actually quite interesting and we get to give people some good news about the new household stimulus packages.

Like I said in the last post, I broke a bone in my hand (scaphoid) and here is a picture I my good self earlier this morning reading W the P to Q with cast on show.

And the other week we were at the symphony under the stars. I wasn't really aware that we got these cool shots. Bj is actually quite good at capturing these moments.

Here are some of the things we have been up to lately.
We being Quinlan and the rest of us. He generally drags us parents around town, seeing who he is able to charm. This being most people.
Obviously from the photos he is being bottle fed now, as well as eating healthy squished vegies and apple.

His ol dad broke his scaphoid bone in his right hand playing indoor soccer (the beautiful game) and is incapacitated somewhat at the moment (I did type this literature however).
Mr Q is good to have around to ease the boredom, and to breathe some laughter into the bones.

Photos of the burgundy, wine coloured (not pink) cast swathed arm will follow.
Well, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves and go in search of some sympathy.
In other news, we did go on Saturday night to the TSO Symphony under the stars at Tolosa St Park with some friends and the little Q man. This was the evening after m'self having broken me scaphoid. Twas a regular highlight event with Slava Gregorian playing guitar and we got to hear some fine notes.
In other news, I can still play my baritone. Yay!
Bj is having fun taking Quinlan to Mothers group every Tuesday (I'm not allowed to go for some reason).

Festive Frivolity and Falalala lala la la

Hey Peoples.

Well today is ChristMas day and I've found some time to myself. Well to myself and the virus ridden Postmus computer...

Bj, Quinlan (who features in the above shots because we haven't shown him off for a while), Spud and I drove up yesterday to the Northern Lights of Lonnie; after tidying up our house which to our consternation is actually spotless. Ian, Rachel and Kids are staying in our house in Hobart while visiting with Bro & Sis In laws for their Xmas time together.

Anyway, we Went to the Xmas service this am where Rev Eikelboom talked of the artistic liberality of musicians and artists portraying Christmas, as well as the idea that Shepherds were the lowliest of persons in Jesus' day, and if God's peace extends to them, it extends to us all. Good also to spend time with Lonnie folk every weekend and again.

Well, This arvo is a Xmas dinner at Suzies and tomorrow boxing day festivities etc etc etc etc.

What are those two looking at?
Is it the rogue potatoes that decided to come up?
Is it the design of a you beaut only fixed it 10 times irrigation scheme?
Or is it the lettuce that i just finished standing on, coz the garden was way too full of little seedlings.

Anyway, Dad knew exactly where every plant was in that patch. He basically reconstructed the surface and substrate soil and did a marvellous job. Hopefully we can sample some of the fruits this summer. He may be interested to know that we also planted an apricot tree at the Y of the back garden.
We may give yas some updates on the growth in said patch, when said growth appears via the digital photo means one day.

Bj and I had a great time with G & G even though we all went through some hardship or other such as colds, flus, headaches, etc. It was so quiet the days after Mum & Dad were gone.
And above, you see Quinlan being very photogenic, as well as telling Grandma a very long story.
He was telling her how it was great to have someone else to push the pram and to console him.

I had to shout, because it's a long way to where this message needs to travel.
Bj, Larry and Quin welcomed their aged parents yesterday into the land of Southern Tasmania, and were pretty well overwhelmed with gifts etc.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who lavished their well wishes and gifts upon us.
From West (Oz) to North (Canada) and everywhere else, Thanks guys.

We think the little guy had a growth spurt yesterday and he is doing really well.
Bj and I are looking forward to catching up on sleep one day, however (maybe ma and pa can felicitate that).

Well, Sarah, check this out! Here are some long awaited photos portraying in landscape mode a group of friends and raletions, namely Winnie the pooh and tigger too, and eyeore looking decidedly joyful, and of course piglet. We are very thankful so far. Quinlan is feeding well, bathing well, and is doing his level best to be one of the cutest babies ever...

He weighed 6lb 12oz
Arriving at 5:12pm on 28 August 2008.

All is well with mother and son (and father:)).

Strange Autos on Montrose Track - Mt Wellington

Sean and I walked the dogs up Montrose Track which goes up from Glenorchy to Mt Wellington Park. We had a great time, and we were stunned when we fell upon the old vehicle shells in the valley. We couldn't reist some cool photos.

Hobart in Winter & Recollections of Sunny Days

G'day Folks.
Lately Things are rather the opposite of hotting up here in Hobart.
Snow is on the mountains again and it's Fareeezing.

In July I went to WA as a respite from all the preparations for the new arrival.
I played supergolf with the Huizinga clan (apart from Diana who was with Jess on a European tour).

I really need to add more to this blog, although it seems more shall be forthcoming in the next few months (read years).

Bj is staying at home most days now and every complaint she has gives me goose bumps as we don't really know whether or not it's the latent phase of giving birth (now if you have been to a ante/pre/post/ natal class you would know what that means).

Winter is very cold in Hobart despite what people say, and Gas Fitters are temperamental.
We got an outrageous quote from one guy who was really nice, for connecting all appliances etc,
and then we haven't heard back from another guy who was a little more grumpy, but still ok (judging by the dogs demeanour around him), who reckons his company could do it far cheaper than that...

Complex, I know, but meanwhile we sit in the cold. Cold, but still holding on to our cold hard cash.
However, do not fret (especially parental units reading this), as we have two perfectly functional electric heaters and blinds in the lounge now to hold heat in.

Well, it's been a year almost to the day since I've posted something, so I thought i better say something...

Firstly I would like to congratulate everybody who recently had a birthday, Oma, Janneke, Bj, Gerry etc. (John, I can never remember your birthday... If someone is reading this, pls post a comment).

And I am sure Bj thanks ya all for wishes and cards etc.

We are getting on fine in Moonah, and the Lounge now has carpet and is painted. Ready to move back in from the front "lounge". The vegie garden needs some winter vegies put in, and has been slightly neglected lately.

Spud let himself in the house last night (because someone left the back door unlocked and he knows how to open it ... clever dog...) and thought he would lock himself in the laundry and then play with the 12 or so rolls of toilet paper... hmmm... interesting photos.

Bj is 28 weeks now, and is doing fine. Larry is still playing in band and working every so often. The weather has yet to become traditional freezing Hobart weather, so that is a nice touch. Maybe the weather is waiting for our Natural Gas installation to come through.

On that note, we thank God for his blessings, especially during Bj's pregnancy and that we are all healthy. We can't wait for August 26 (Not August 28!!).

I met Tessa there (haha, she set her alarm for an hour too late, and just managed to catch the end of the service).
